Deep River

The wide pools and raging rapids of the upper reaches of the Deep River are where many enthusiasts of canoeing and kayaking enjoy their thrills. Top fishing and bird watching sites can also be found along its way to the Nornalup Inlet at Walpole through the State Karri, Jarrah and Tingle Woods, Mount Frankland, and Walpole-Nornalup National Parks. 

Fernhook Falls, a breathtaking sight in the winter months and a picturesque picnic and swimming spot in summer, is the most popular of these. 

By taking a gentle 40-meter climb into the canopy on the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Hike, be sure not to miss the most beautiful views of the region’s tingle tree wilderness.
