On the western side of the point, Bellanger Beach starts and curves to the mouth of Nornalup Inlet in a 10 km long, south-facing arc. Much of the beach receives waves averaging over 2 m that breakthrough a double-barred surf zone of 400 m wide with powerful beach rips spaced along the inner bar every 500 m and rips on the outer bar more widely spaced.
This beach is used for beach fishing and occasional surfing, but due to the high waves and powerful rips, it is a treacherous location.
