The Wilson Inlet is supplied by the rivers Denmark and Hay and is less than a kilometre south of the town. Embraced on the southern side by the Nullaki peninsula, this majestic water is separated from the ocean by a sandbar which covers most of the year’s opening. Denmark Town, on the northern side of the inlet, lies around a kilometre upstream along the Denmark River.
There are many places in the calm and beautiful Inlet to relax and admire the view. The Heritage Rail Trail along the northern shore of the Wilson Inlet provides incredible views of the inlet for walkers and bikers, surrounded by native woods.
Many species of fish live in the Wilson Inlet. In the Inlet are Sandy Sprat, Cobbler, Pink Snapper, Yellow-eye Mullet, Sea Mullet, and Blue Mackerel. It is one of the best spots in Denmark for those who want to fish. Take a trip to fish with Madfish Charters on the Inlet, the Denmark River, and Little River.
